This week, the club promoted director of player personnel #Brian Gutekunst to general manager.

The younger Wolf, who reportedly had a job opportunity in Oakland with former Packers executive and current general manager Reggie McKenzie, had been the director of football operations in Green Bay since 2016. According to Marc Sessler of NFL.com, the Oakland Raiders also had interest in adding Wolf to the front office, though he ultimately opted for Cleveland.

The Browns also announced they have parted ways with Ryan Griggson, who had the title of senior personnel executive in his only season with the Browns after being fired by the Colts as their general manager.

Per previous reports, Wolf signed a four-year deal with the Browns, the same length of the contract Dorsey signed last month.

Gutekunst offered Wolf a spot in his department to remain with the Packers as his "right-hand man".

Cleveland's rapidly growing front office continues to evolve under new general manager John Dorsey. Green Bay reached the postseason every year from 2009-16 - one season shy of the National Football League record - before having that string snapped after this year's 7-9 campaign. So the front office gives him an immediate opportunity to propel change after a 0-16 season and a two-year record of 1-31 under Hue Jackson.

The Packers earned 13 trips to the playoffs, nine NFC North division titles and a victory in Super Bowl XLV from 1999-17.

For now, what can we say about Highsmith joining the Browns?

"We're lucky to add Alonzo and Eliot to our personnel staff", Dorsey said in the team's statement on the hires. All three have experience working in the personnel department from their time together with Dorsey in Kansas City with the Chiefs.
