Earlier this offseason the Yankees were said to be pushing to acquire Gerrit Cole from the Pirates.

Now, according to multiple reports, the Astros are on the verge of landing Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gerrit Cole.

"We have talked to several teams about possible trades", Luhnow told the Houston Chronicle.

Cole went 12-12 in 2017 with a 4.26 ERA and 196 strikeouts.

The teams have not announced the deal, and Cole has reportedly yet to be informed of the trade, so there is still a lot to get done.
